The Consortia

To the purpose of protect and promote the image of the Brunello Wine and of the Red Wine of Montalcino in Italy and in the world the producers of the wines have created two Consortia so that verify the respect of the norms of production, stimulate the continuous amelioration of the quality and promote the wine on the national territory and in the world.



"Brunello of Montalcino" - Wine D.O.C.G.

The wine Brunello of Montalcino it has caused exclusively with grapes Sangiovese, in the variety defined to Montalcino "Brunello".

He has decorated of the maximum recognition "Denomination of Checked and Guaranteed Origin" from the July 1980.

and it therefore respect the norms of production that this title imposes:

  • the production is limited to a maximum of 80 quintals to hectare,

  • the aging must be at least of four years,

  • the wine must respect specific characteristics,

  • each quantity of wine must be subjected to the judgment of an errand installed beside the Room of Commerce of Siena.

Physical characteristics

  • Color: red vivacious pomegranate.

  • Parfume: intense, persistent, ample and ethereal, we recognizes signs of wood, small fruits, light vanilla, composite jam and wood derived from the aging.

  • Taste: has elegant and harmonic body, whip and race.

  • Final feeling: dry with long persistence.



"Red of Montalcino" - Wine D.O.C.

The wine Red of Montalcino it has caused with the same grapes Sangiovese of the Brunello.

Therefore it's possible get the two wines from the same vineyards.

The wine has decorated from the recognition "Denomination of Checked Origin" from the November 1983 with the Disciplinary of Production of the 25/11/1993 that any has established the formalities of production and the characteristics.


Physical characteristics

  • Color: red composite ruby.

  • Perfume: has good intensity and fragrance, we recognizes perfumes of small fruits cool and light cherry.

  • Taste: harmonically dry, of whip and freshness has good persistence.

The wine could be combined with foods to base of poultry, white and red meats and fowl.
